it's just funny though how some people would treat you base on your physical look. well, i can't blame them, if i'd be in their place and encounter some losyang, i might also act the same way they do. as they say if you want to be respected, you have to at least give an effort to look good also. usual case is when i and mark would go to the bank, the guards would usually greet mark but not me. this happens a lot of times.
funny incidents because of my losyang fashion sense plus tangaon look:
* one time in Landbank, i deposited my mother's pension check after cut-off time. the teller told me that she will not receive the check because it's after cut-off time already. in my mind, i was like whatttt??? ignorant-looking lang ko but i'm not ignorante. so i told her that this is the first time a check was refused just because it's after cut-off time. maybe she realized i'm not that stupid, she accepted the check and advice that i should have someone deposit the check so it'd deposited before cut-off time. hello? if naa lay lain modeposit, ngano mag hago2x man ko!!! ggrrrrr....
* i was looking on some sony digicams in ayala. then i asked the sales guy regarding payment modes. then he told me about 0% interest on credit cards blahblah. then he told me, you can ask a friend of yours who has a credit card to do the purchase for you then you just pay thru him. so i look like i can't afford a credit card?!? why? what does a person with a credit card look like? i don't qualify?
* another store in ayala, i asked if they have rechargeable batteries, so the sales guy pointed me to some brandless rechargeable batteries. so i asked him if they have other brands of rechargeable batteries, then he said yes then added, 'pero mahalon ra ba to.' huhhh??? i really look like i can't afford. =) funny funny. you just said goodbye to some sales.
* in sm groceries, it's my turn in the counter. i told the cashier that i'd be using the bpi debit card to pay. i dunno if this is their SOP but she asked me if she can check my account first so that we'll have no problems. weird because that was my first time i was asked sthing like that. owkeis, in short she wanted to make sure that i can pay. yayyy!!! di diay ko katoohan?
there were still other many instances... but the latest is today, in gaisano ayala. igloo is having a 50% discount promo so i grabbed the chance to buy a cooler. i'm the kind of person who chooses the biggest size because i feel it's more practical. so i asked the sales guy if he thinks the size i chose would fit in a car's trunk. he nodded then asked me, 'naa diay kay sakyanan, ma'am?' i did not bother answering him, and try to busy myself examining the cooler. then he ask the question again and again like 5 times until i said yes to shut him off. ataya sad oy, unsa man diay tan-aw nya nako. bisan poor karon ka-afford na tawn og car oy. i did not answer him directly because his question some kinda puzzled me and i find it funny. why did he ask that kind of question? is owning a car prerequisite to owning a cooler?!? and, do i look someone so dirt poor who can't even afford to pay a taxi for me and my cooler? =) i wanted so much to laugh out so loud at his face.
hayyy, i wanna be gretchen barreto -- fashion, beauty, power, and money. people will kiss my feet. i will walk on red carpet glittering with all the precious gems. and would say i'm fine being called prima donna because it means acting like a queen (she said sthing like this plus she mentioned she thought, before, primadonna is like madonna... whatever.).

haha. funny uy. ;o)
hahahha amaw man ka Rosee oi! For the record you are not losyang. eccentric but not losyang.. =p hehehe Mwah!
some people can be so judgemental.. they judge u before they get to know u.. sad reality... but regardless of those things at least we know much more better of ourselves than what people see.. kever nalng nila..hehehe
LOL.
the world is deliberately full of stew feed fee full. other places, among many, where they are located are: KFC (yes, BOTH outlets in SM and Ayala), Jollibee (Raintree Mall AND Country Mall), Jonie's (Ayala).
1. KFC (SM) = they tend to wash scrub the floor and pour a bucketful of soapy water EVEN IF you're obviously still there eating. I gave their manager a mini-demo of that splashy splash splash scandal with a return pouring down of a glass of iced tea (or was it pepsi? it slipped my mind) on the counter table (demonstrating how splishy splashy and very rude it is to spill liquid deliberately while someone is there)
KFC (Ayala) - they tend to inform you that your order will be 7- 15 minutes late and ask if you're willing to wait, make you wait, exceeds the time given you to wait, you tolerate, and then after about half an hour more or less of hungrily waiting, someone comes up to tell you that your order is not available (AFTER you have paid for your order). I didn't give a demo, though i dunno if i should have given a "very hungry customer" demo and just BIT someone from their kitchen (preferably the one who gave my order away to someone else), but i sure did tell the manager that i don't care if it takes an hour, a day, a week or a year to cook my order as long as they serve it to me because I already paid for it. you don't pay for an item in a store if it isn't available to buy in the first place.
2. JOLLIBEE (Country Mall) - they also make you wait. when you order for takeout , they tend to serve you your drinks with ice first while you're waiting for, like, 15 minutes for your order to cook. and then the ice on your drink melts... if ice could melt, imagine how hot your head must be by that time.
JOLLIBEE (Raintree Mall) - yep, you guessed it. they make you wait. and then you keep waiting. and then when it's almost midnight and you're still waiting for your order and wondering what gives, they look at you at that corner and they ALSO start to wonder what gives. meaning, they haven't the slightest clue what you're waiting for... it's almost closing time. oh, and i turned up my alarm on my cellphone and let it beep like i don't know what's happening too... until they realized there's a number on my table 10 minutes before the end credits begin to roll up in front of my eyes.
JONIE'S (Ayala) - nothing really special. except that they tend to serve your iced tea WITHOUT ice. damnit. as in damnit. like ordering chocolate ice cream without chocolates.
i have only myself to blame. i also belong to the miserable group who tend to be in the right places at the wrong time... and vice versa. the planets may be conspiring against us.
rose, you made me laugh!
don't be like gretchen barreto... we all know that she's a bi-yacth. be the same smiling person you are.
a little dress-up doesnt hurt either. i got some of my clothes from carbon where blouses costs 80pesos a piece.
hi rose. di sad siguro to tungod sa imong get-up, na lang gyuy mga tawo nga tactless. even if i'm in my business attire and naka makeup, maingnan man gihapon ko nga "mahal to sya mam". sa una maglagot sad ko pero sa kadugayan, githink na lang nako nga maybe, generally, barato ang pangitaon sa tawo.
re: depositing after cut-off time, wrong gyud na to refuse kay banks can accept late deposits but they have to inform the client that such deposits will be credited the next banking day. wa pa gyud ko kasuway ug maayong service sa landbank escario and banilad. dunno sa other branches.
re: bpi debit card, supposedly deretso na nila iswipe kay mahibaw-an man dayon kung nay balanse or insufficient but don't be mad, we've also experienced the same thing you had. iverify sa kuno.
bitaw, sale ang igloo sa metro ayala. wanted to buy sad pero daghan na kay mig hakuton inig pamalhin next week.
re: dressing up, pareho usahay ta. wa koy care mag dress up kay kapoy especially karon nga buntis ko, wala gyud koy gana mag dress up and sometimes, i'd think "ngano man diay kung magpaka "losyang" ko, comfy man?" but there are times when i'd also think, "bitaw no, how we look is also a reflection of self-discipline".
i can so relate. at kfc, i also called the attention of their supervisors because of that cleaning up thing while we're still eating. and yes, at kfc ayala, i was also made to wait for my order, only to be told it's not available.
rose, don't be like gretchen...everybody hates her, they're just nice to her k she's filthy rich...=)
i usually experience this sa kfc SM, like nahuman na tanan nimo kauban og kaon, wa pa niabot imo order and then ka pila2x na ka nag balik2x og follow-up kay tanang tawo nakakuha na sa ila order ako na lng wa. of cors, ig abot sa imo food, dali2x na kag kaon kay ikaw na lng nabilin. =) wa nay enjoyment.
hala exciting!=) hinay2x lng...
para nako preggers have the excuse to dress how they like... bug-at na gali imo lawas, hasolon pa jud kag pajaporms.
hahaha. mao gyud. preggers or not, my family and friends would tell me that i should always look good.
Ay kevs rosie You know only the Pretentious Poor or "People Who Have Illusions of Grandeur" are prone to discriminate. They raise their eyebrows at my bordies and filp-flops, they don't even b other to read that its billabong and rip curl as opposed to their what..... 100 pesos nga sosyal tan awon nga t-shirt. I mean i d on't have against people who wear cheap kay mag spartan raman sad gani ko kung magkalisod pero wala lang tay hilabtanay ba, kay hilabtan pud ta mo...wait, im reaching boiling point....deep breathing....
hala ganahan lagi ko ani nga line... =) hhmmm... =)
haha makalingaw man ni na blog... :-)
