FLOODED

i was throwing tantrums yesterday. the reason: my only good pair of jeans length is "baha"! i bought it at adina for some P1500, then i had the length trimmed to fit me better. when, i tried it in the morning, the length is way off the floor. damn! goodbye freaking jeans!

my 4-day (christmas) vacation

day 1 friday
we went to SM after lunch (miguel, mark, ng tessie, and maru). miguel was asleep when we arrived at SM so i let him sleep on his stroller while i was hunting around infant's wear section for some red onesies for miguel which he could for christmas. i just left miguel (sleeping in his stroller) in one corner while i busied myself looking for that perfect red suit for him when i heard a baby crying - i thought to myself, "who's baby is that?" when i checked on miguel, he was the crying baby. what-a-mother am i leaving his baby alone.
yes, i do get a red onesies. my first found was another pooh stripes onesies but they don't have it in size M so i opted for another one. it is not a pooh, it has a baby taz instead. and match it with a red baby taz socks too. he really looks cute in them!

day 2 (saturday) IT'S THE CHRISTMAS DAY!
on the eve of christmas, i was the only one awake in the family. miguel and mark were fast asleep despite the loud firecrkackers! actually, i just wait for the clock to strike 12am then i go to sleep.
so when morning came, i was sleepy. sleeping 12 midnight and waking up at 5am because miguel is already up. when miguel took his nappy at around 7am, i also made a quick nap until i went to sleep when i heard miguel cry. so i run to the other room, only to find out miguel fell flat on the floor with his face down. i was reallllyyy scared, i felt myself trembling and miguel was crying hard! so, mark into the rescue. thankfully, he was not badly hurt except for a red mark on his right cheek (what a christmas present)! thank God! it made me think, how precius one's life is. one wrong move, and miguel might not be with us any more (GOD FORBID!).
we attended the 1030am mass.
at noon, we went to SM again for some quick buy. it was mostly mark's buy. i'm glad because miguel would not make a fuss when he's placed in his stroller.

day 3 (sunday)
we attended the 1030am mass. at lunchtime, the whole buenconsejo family had a lunch out courtesy of tatay jokol at grand majestic eat-all-you-can. well, it was a sumptous treat! mmmm, makes me hungry thinking about it!
after lunch, we went to ayala. this time, i bought teether for miguel though he's not teeting yet but he has the habit of sucking, eating, biting any thing that gets near him. and mark chose a red beetle toy for him too. he was pretty active in his stroller. smiling and cooing at strangers even shouting! he did not sleep the whole time.however, in the car on our way home, he finally fell to sleep. mmmm, such a sweety!
by the way, this is the first time that miguel gets to meet his soul mate BOSLEY (my officemate naj's baby)! her family was there too, doing some shopping.

day 4 (monday)
i guess the 3 of us were dead tired for the past 3 days activities.so we just stay home whole day except for a quick tour to the groceries. also, i bought a new pooh shoes for miguel.
i also had a self pregnancy test, and it came out negative. it's owkei, as i'm not yet ready to have another baby. miguel is just 4 months and he's quite a handful already.

i just love being mwith my baby all the time!!!

I'M JUST THE HAPPIEST TODAY

guess what i've got! just when you are not looking for it - it will suddenly pop out of nowhere!

few hours ago, i was at robinsons to look for some ATM machine to get some cash. since i'm already there, i did some roaming around, checking some stuffs when finally i came to the kids section in their depratment store. there it is! the first thing that caught my attention was a BABY BOUNCER (please see the picture). for those who read my previous post, you'd know how desperate i am to get a hand on it. its brand is BABY 1st. i was hoping for a GRACO but they don't have it in this brand. it's called bumper jumper in GRACO. well, i'm sure that BABY 1st comes more affordable so that adds more smile to my face and my pocket!

but still, graco or not, i am just soooooooooo happy to get one of these bouncers, after all the searching i've been through. i bought it in a blink of an eye! i don't care if i zeroed my debit card! i really want to have it! i can't contain my happiness! i feel like i just meet a very long lost dear friend! i was really all smiles and hopping and jumping on my way back to my office!!!

one of the reasons why i really wanted this is because of a very active baby. and, i mean really active like who does not care about sleep any more. and being up means bouncing up and down, so you have to constantly carry/hold him to a standing position so he could do his business of jumping and jumping! and, we (i, his papa, and beloved ate mona) are not energizer bunny who could go on and on and on. and, he's not getting lighter!

now that i have it. my only problem now is - will my baby like it?!? we'll see! now, i can't wait to go home and try this on my baby!!! =))) (more smiles)

SMART PARENTING baby magazine by summit media

Rating:★★★
Category:Other
please don't confuse it with SMART PARENTING magazine also by summit media.

i was given a free copy of their first release by my baby's pedia. and, for a first-timer mother, it was really such a good read! they do provide practical and applicable advices.

i'm looking for this for quite some time already, and i can't find any store selling it. only SMART PARENTING is what is usually for sale. when i checked the summit media site, it said it's distributed among doctors, nurses, etc and are given free. meaning, i should ask my baby's pedia on our next visit for a free copy.

the only copy i have is the one in the picture which is at the hands of a friend of mine who's also a first-time mother. and, she loves it too and is also on the look out for this.

if someonce could tell me where i could get a copy of this, please do message me!

WORST NIGHTMARE

... i'm trapped in a friendsterless world! and proxies are useless, they also cannot be accessed. what a!

yesterday (12/116/2004) was my first day here at my new office. i won't bother mentioning the name of my new company, as if someone really cares to read this. and, if someone does, for sure they are not interested in my company. hehehe

the company is owkei only friendster and IM's are restricted!

parteeesss!!!

for this december, i have 3 parties to attend!!! one party was last saturday held at our officemate's house with mega lawn. second one will be tonight at kahayag cafe! then the 3rd one will be at our new office located at mango square mall. they said party's going to be at the rooftop!

(picture was last saturday's party; me not in the pic because i went home already because miguel was with me.)

miguel's first try on solid foods!

miguel was supposed to start solid foods on dec 11 as advised by his pedia. however, my mother advised me to "sungil" him first which should ahppen this coming sunday because the moon's position is good (whatever!). my nanay's recipe for sungil:

1. cut out letters that are hard to pronounce (i.e. l, r, s) from mags or newspaper
2. then burn the cut-out letters to ashes
3. boil an egg
4. then mix the ashes and the yellow of the egg.

then, voila! you can now give it to your child as his first solid food. this "sungil" will suppose make your child's communication skill develop faster and better.

so, i said to myself, why not try it and i heard a lot of mothers doing it! but when i told my husband and mother-in-law about it, their reactions were like "are-you-crazy!". my husband was like "are you going to let our son eat a tree (papers are from trees - duh)". but then to myself, there is no harm in trying, right? so, this sunday it should be!

i then get a chance to talk to our very nice HR who happens to be a mother of grown-up children already. and i was surprised, she has no idea about "sungil". i though everybody knows about it. and, she commented that wouldn't it be bad for the baby to ingest the ink from the cut-out letters.and advised me to seek doctor's advice 1st. and, this made me think, yeah right!

i then decided to give miguel his first solid food today! and, i can't wait for sunday, i'm pretty excited so goodbye "sungil"! sorry, nanay! so what if miguel will babytalk first, i don't care! babies who babytalk sound cute to me!

the pedia was good enough by giving us 2 packs of sample Nestle Cerelac, the one without flavor. so, i mixed it with water and voila - here comes miguels first solid food! well, as i imagined it before, it was really a mess! he did open his mouth when i shove the spoon into his mouth then have this look that he was like munching/chewing the food then later on the food just like drip out from his mouth. it was like there is food all over his face - he still looks cute though! i really don't know if the food gets to reach his tummy! and after like 4 or 5 spoons, he starts squirming and whimping so better end the solid-food eating session! =) (i'll post next time a pic of his while aeting.)

my baby is now 4 months!

yeayyy!!! my baby is now 4 months, and i think that's why he's super "kiat", he can be everywhere!

we went to her pedia this morning to have his pentaxin shot. and, he did not cry!

and, we also got his NBS (Newborn Screen Test) result, and I am so thankful to the LORD with result! the result is all negative! i always have this gnawing feeling since my baby has one horizontal creased line on his palm (it is usually 2). and, i read that it is one of the indications of a down syndrome! that's why i'm so happy the results came negative!

gLOOmy

i'm depreseed.

it must be with the weather.

i don't know but i really feel bad. some big honchos from the office we're going to transfer are coming over here tomorrow for some one-on-one getting-to-know talk with each one of us! and it's like you're expected to wear something presentable. and MY PINAKAKUSGAN WARDDROBES DON'T FIT ON ME ANY MORE! major problem because i definitely cannot afford to do some emergency shopping! and to top it all, my only good shoes, i don't know if it's presentable, is my white (but it's not white really because it's been mudded and dusted for months of not being used) favorite sneakers! buhuhuhuhu...

oh well, the only possible solution i can afford is i'll just wear my best charm! and put a don't-judge-the-book-by-its-cover badge on my sleeves!

tonight, i'll practise flashing my best smile! =))) oh LORD GOD, please
stuff me up with intelligence, wit and humor for tomorrow!

***family day***

last sunday, 112804, was our first ever family malling with just the three of us - i, mark, and our li'l baby miguel. I was a bit unsure of the idea of going out with just the three of us 'cause i don't know if we can hanlde if miguel would get into not-so-good-mood and might be hysterical at the mall. that kind of situation is pretty owkei with me but very much not with mark.

thankfully, everything was owkei. we went to all toy stores for infants. i did not realize, infant's toys can be so pricey! sheessshhh, if only i had money that time, we would be going home with handful of toys in different shapes, sizes, colors! and, i found out that Rustans has the best infant's toy store among the stores in ayala even compared to sm. but, still, i was not able to find that graco bumper jumper. grrrr!!! i don't know what miguel can say about all the toys he saw! he's pretty mindless about them. i bet, it's i who enjoyed the toytrip most!

then we grabbed some burgers and fave fries from McDo. well, miguel was an audience while we were eating. oh, it's also our first time to be in McDo, the 3 of us!

all in all, i think miguel did have a great time because he never displayed any sign of irritation. and, did not ask for some milk. =)))

hope we could do it more and the next time, we must be going home with those toys!!! =)))

CHINO PINO (http://chinopino.ph/)

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
the most innovative product made in the philippines for babies. but, i'm not pretty sure with this statement. though i've seen different versions and brands on the net but i don't think they're available here in philippines. only this chino pino.

chino pino is a reusable/cloth diaper. it works like the good old "lampin" however with a twist on it. it is shaped like those of disposable diapers. so it's pretty easy to use it. goodbye to not-so-safety safety pins becuase it has velcro on it. and, it made changing diaper task so easy and so fast!!!

this is very good especially if you have very "kiat" babies!

the one in the picture is not a chino pino. however, that's how a chino pino looks and function like .

PS: my diaper story here, http://owrange.multiply.com/journal/item/914/of_diapers_and_such .

for those who ask, I find Chino Pino in all leading department stores here in Cebu -- SM, Rustans, Gaisano.

a good source for cloth vs disposable diaper:

HUGGIES OVERNITE

Rating:
Category:Other
a lot of my friends told me that huggies is no good and don't even try it. i even come across a review that it's the worst diaper of the year. but still i find a lot of good reviews regarding huggies product.

since i get bored with the pampers diaper, i bought a small pack of HUGGIES OVERNITE. note that huggies comes in different variants (i already forgot their different names). well, i opted to buy the most expensive so i chose the huggies overnite.

aesthetically, i like it because it has drawings all over. well, i guess that's the only thing what i like about the product. it does it work however, it tends to leak in the long run especially when it is pooed.

following are what i don't like about it:
1. the feel is so plastic
2. it's not so breathable especially on the waistband part, so baby would get hot and sweaty. - this is what really turns me off with this product
3. as i mentioned before, it's chances of leaking is high
4. it's so expensive, i think it's more expensive than my all-time favorite diaper pampers baby dry.

DRYPERS

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
aesthetically, i really like drypers - i like the drawings and all. but it also does its work! its performance can level with pampers baby dry. however, along the run, it gets and looks so bulky. oh well, all diapers gets bulky when filled up with weewee.

i also like its feel - the whole thing feels cottony. and it has some aloe vera - though i don't know if the aloe vera thing really works.

compare to pampers comfort, it's more expensive. however compare to pampers baby dry, it is also cheaper.

*secret*

my manito is JUNICO ARANCO! =)))

i don't like it much when i get to pick a boy. because it's just so hard to get a gift for them plus boy stuffs can be more expensive. i definitely can't afford some cd games, computer accessories, or car accessories.

some gift ideas for junico:

1. comb
2. cap
3. scented candles?

by the way the budget is P100.00. how's that?

-----------------

about the COMB

i googled about comb and here's what i found:

"There's only one touch-up tool that a man with class should shove in his back pocket, and that's a comb." (source: http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article/0,2823,s1-7-0-0-636,00.html)

it made me think that comb is the perfect gift. a nice one it should be!

metal comb (picture) for $ 10.00. sheesshhh, roughly P500. you think scented candle is a better idea? =)))

my not-so-lucky-day YeStErDaY

i broke the rice cooker's glass cover in the morning. my right flipflop sandals split into two.

i don't mind the rice cooker because we got 6 rice cookers as wedding gifts, but damn my flipflops - it's the only close-to-decent pair of footwear i have these days. and, i don't really find it owkei because i'm broke. i can't afford for something new!

and just this morning, i destroyed my baby's week-old toy, that play gym. sheesshhh, i'm a jinx! oh well, mishaps could mean good fortune! =)))

PAMPERS BABY DRY

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
after searching for good disposable diaper, i finally settle with pampers baby dry. please don't confuse it with pampers comfort. well, both of them are good. however, i prefer pampers baby dry, one is its velcro tape and it's really dependable for overnights. and, i find the elephant/koala on the waistband cuter than of the pampers comfort. it also has a better smell. =))) i hope we could have here in the philippines those pamper diapers with colorful illustrations on it. they are so plain looking, it gets me bored. but, still, i love pampers baby dry!

by the way, i get to do some groceries in country mall and they already have a new pampers baby with illustrations on it. so i grab a pack!

my debut on writing

thanks to multiply.com and chay (on the pic i stole from her friendster), i finally found the best place where i could display my writing skills. but what i mean by writing is literally writing, like writing a grocery list, writing an email, writing answers to exams... so don't expect much literary skills or some artistry on my writings. and expect WRONG SPELLINGS, GRAMMARS, SENTENCE CONSTRUCTION, or whatever technical term for those.

as far as my writing career, my early stints on it was way back in my student life - like answering essay questions during exam. by the way, i'm a psych graduate so i was used to answering essay exams, and there's a true or false exams where you have to explain your answer and even the multiple choices (weird teachers! can't they be more kind?). that's all i can say about my writing experience.

by the way, i'll try my best not to use txt words (you know the short cut like, r u ok?), i'm fond of it.

now, i can't think of any thing to write. 'til my next entry, i'll try my best to make it a little bitlonger, meatier and more sensible.

by the way, watch out for my photos. i have a feeling that i'm better at photo journal. i need to have visual aids to get the words out of my mouth.

hi reynold! don't forget to post my excerpts on my coming book! and, thanks for playing the song i like while finishing this entry. i miss you by boyz2men. i'll post reynold's pic later so you'll have an diea how he looks.
