Having a brush working in promotions, I noticed that the popular / celebrities are actually the more who seek out the media and press. They're easier to ask for interviews.
I was thinking that why do these popular people takes effort on being written or announced when they're already popular? Like duh!
Then, I realized that they do become popular because they work for it. They know better the value of the press, media, or whoever can promote them. And, most of all, they know that though fame may easily be theirs, but they know that it needs fanning to keep the flame burning.
And, no there's no harm in doing the fanning yourself.
